Pictorial Whispers is a deeply personal body of work created using handmade calotype paper negatives—one of the earliest photographic processes, dating back to the 1840s. This series emerged from a season of grief and healing following the loss of my daughter, Abby. It explores themes of resilience, transformation, and connection through the ephemeral life cycle of flowers.

Each image was made using 19th-century chemistry and vintage soft-focus lenses. The calotype negatives are handcrafted—iodized, sensitized, exposed, and developed one sheet at a time in my darkroom. From these rare paper negatives, I create contact-printed salt prints using traditional 19th-century methods. Each print is made by hand, resulting in a luminous, softly textured image with a unique tonal character that cannot be replicated through modern processes.

This edition of salt prints is limited to 100 hand-printed copies per image, offering collectors a rare opportunity to own a piece of living photographic history.
